Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat can’t catch a break!

Former Kaizer Chiefs player Khama Billiat saw red for his Zimbabwean club Yadah Stars in a Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premiership.

Billiat was shown a straight red for Yadah as they went down 1-0 loss to Herentals FC at Rufaro Stadium.

Just last week, there were signs that Billiat had turned the corner, scoring a brace for Yadah. This came against top Zimbabwean side Chicken Inn FC. That performance also came on the back of the ex-Chiefs man recovering from an injury that was initially feared to be serious. But the winger was not able to get momentum in the next fixture against Herentals, which has become the story of his move thus far.

Herentals needed just 11 minutes to open the scoring, doing so through a Godfrey Makambi strike. What would make the sending off even more frustrating for Billiat, is the fact that it wasn’t even for anything physical. The former Zimbabwe international was shown his marching orders by referee Thanks Nyaungwe for something he said to the official.

Billiat leaves the stadium after seeing red!

According to FARPost, Billiat went on to leave the stadium after the red card.

“Billiat was not amused with Nyaungwe’s call. He left the stadium soon after his dismissal together with his daughter who was in attendance.”

Yadah coach Thomas Ruzive side stepped the question regarding Billiat’s sending off.

“I cannot say much about Billiat’s red card because I can’t tell what really happened from where I was. It was a huge blow for us. Our boys got confused a bit and by the time they regained their focus, it was too late,” said Ruzive.

Ex-Chiefs man to miss crunch encounter

As a result, Billiat will miss a massive clash against giants Caps United in Harare. He could be a massive miss for Yadah, as they find themselves in the relegation zone with just 10 points thus far.

Yadah is the first club Billiat has joined since leaving Chiefs and South Africa at the beginning of this season.
