Kaizer Chiefs fixtures: Next FIVE Amakhosi matches

Amakhosi have a testing schedule on the horizon. Here are the next five Kaizer Chiefs fixtures to get in the diary.

KAIZER CHIEFS FIXTURES ON THE HORIZON

Chiefs must wait until Saturday, 30 March when they travel to Cape Town to face Cape Town City. Amakhosi lost last season’s corresponding fixture on the final day to lose out of fourth place to the Citizens. Kickoff in that match is at 15:30. The turnaround time to their next fixture is a short one, with a clash against Stellenbosch on Tuesday 2 April at 19:30. That’s followed by a trip to Chippa on Saturday 6 April with kickoff at 15:00. Chiefs face Richards Bay away from home on 20 April at 15:00 and finally there’s a clash with Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport on 27 April at 17:00.

Meanwhile, the club’s rearranged/postponed meeting with TS Galaxy still doesn’t have a confirmed date.

Boring boring Amakhosi?

Chiefs have played 20 matches this season in the DStv Premiership with those encounters producing a total of 34 goals at an average of 1.7 goals per game. Only Polokwane City have seen matches producing lower averages in that metric with a miserly 1.52 GPG. TS Galaxy’s 18 matches have only seen 31 total goals at an average of 1.72 per game.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO WELCOME DITLHOKWE BACK SOON

Thatayone Ditlhokwe, one of the cornerstones of the Chiefs’ back four, dislocated his shoulder while on international duty with Botswana in October. Skipper of his country, big things are expected of the 25-year-old at club level too. He’s certainly in the frame to be a major contender for the Chiefs captaincy when Itumeleng Khune hangs up his gloves. Ditlhokwe underwent surgery on December 11th and a three-month timeframe was provided for his return. Therefore, it shouldn’t be long before the impressive central defender slowly returns to full training.

“TT (Ditlhokwe) came off the operating table yesterday for his shoulder and we expect him to be out for about three months. We wish him a good recovery. And Ashley (du Preez) is maybe a week and a half to two weeks away from being back,” Cavin Johnson told the Kaizer Chiefs Media team back in December.
