Orlando Pirates to offload fan favourite?

Orlando Pirates are believed to already be looking to refresh their attacking department ahead of next season.

With that being said, Pirates would have to sign as well offload certain players in those departments.

The club was already active in the recently concluded January transfer window. The likes of Thabiso Lebitso and Talent Mbatha were roped in by Pirates, who then saw Bienvenu Eva Nga released. Then perhaps, the biggest outgoing was that of club stalwart Thembinkosi Lorch. The playmaker shocked the local football fraternity by securing a deadline-day move to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

Attack needs refreshing?

The likes of Eva Nga and Lorch were expected to be joined on the exit list by Souaibou Marou. He did survive the transfer window, however, and did so again in January despite more exit rumours. Now heading into the end of the season, it is believed he will eventually be on his way. Additionally, it has been claimed that he could be joined by Zakhele Lepasa and Kermit Erasmus. The latest player to be included in that possible forwards exit list is Vincent Pule.

Pule is a fan favourite at Pirates, but his injuries have seen his importance to the club reduced. That to such an extent that the club are willing to even loan him out, at the end of the season.

Pirates willing to offload Pule

“Look, the Pirates management likes Pule, that’s why they extended his contract, but the reality is that he is not playing much. The coach doesn’t seem to have confidence in him and he is always struggling with injuries,” said a source to The Citizen.

A loan deal for a 32-year-old Pule does not seem to make sense for the player or Pirates. Just last season, he was linked to both Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United. In the end, the football fraternity was shocked when he signed a new deal at the Buccaneers.

Having made just eight appearances for Pirates so far this season, is it time for Pule to seek a fresh start?
