Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: Tottenham aiming to ruin Man United’s transfer plan by snatching up midfield target – Man United News And Transfer News

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to sign Leicester City star and reported Manchester United target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Midfield is understood to be an area of the pitch INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are keen on strengthening ahead of the summer transfer window and Dewsbury-Hall was mentioned to be on United’s radar.

The Leicester attacking midfielder is believed to be an option for United in their efforts to improve on output generated from the middle of the park.

He has registered an impressive 11 goals and 14 assists in 43 games for the Foxes across all competitions.

Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion are believed to have approached Leicester in January to declare their interest in Dewsbury-Hall. However, offers from the Seagulls for the Englishman were rejected.

talkSPORT have provided an update on the transfer race for the 25-year-old and indicated that Tottenham are weighing up a swoop for him as they seek to pip United to his services.

The North London outfit expect Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to leave at the end of the season and have identified Dewsbury-Hall as the perfect player to replace the Dane.

Tottenham have an advantage over United in their pursuit of the Leicester n.o 22 – they enjoy a positive relationship with the Championship club having signed James Maddison last summer.

Leicester value Dewsbury-Hall at £45m but it’s likely that his services could be secured for a significantly lower fee than that.

Enzo Maresca’s side seemed on their way to promotion to the Premier League but in recent weeks, they’ve fallen off and qualification for the top flight no longer appears to be as guaranteed as it initially was. Leicester currently sit in third place in the Championship standings with 85 points, two points adrift of Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town who are leading the pack.

As such, Leicester’s position in negotiations for Dewsbury-Hall has weakened and it’s thought that a sum of £25million could be enough to seal the deal for the player.

Combine this with the fact that Leicester announced losses of almost £90million earlier this week and their need to sell Dewsbury Hall and make some money to balance the books almost certainly becomes more urgent.

It’s up to United to ensure that they’re not beaten by Tottenham to Dewsbury-Hall if the Red Devils are indeed intent on luring him to Old Trafford. At £25m, he could prove to be a shrewd signing.
