MAMELODI SUNDOWNS LEGEND HLOMPHO KEKANA TO COACH
Kekana retired in January 2022, aged 36. The Zebediele-born star left hung his boots after over 400 games, eight DStv Premiership titles and the CAF Champions League.
What is he planning next? The answer is coaching studies.
“I guess it’s the name of the game where pressure makes the game interesting. I think for us is to make sure that we concentrate on getting these badges because they will help us,” Kekana said via FARPost.
“So it is important for me to concentrate on this process of getting the qualifications. When the time is right where I will have to use the knowledge that I have learned over the years. It will work to my advantage, and the people that I will be leading at the time will benefit, the former Sundowns skipper added.
“It’s something that one should do, and I believe with the knowledge that we accumulated in football, it’s just to back it up with qualifications, and I think we are the right people to talk about the game because we have been in the game for too long.
“So it’s just a matter of equipping myself with these qualifications. I think they will help in the long run. So that when you speak about the game, you speak about something that you know in writing and knowledge of the game,” the former Bafana Bafana star concluded.
CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIXTURE
Meanwhile, Kekana’s former club Sundowns have somewhat of a big match this weekend.
Kabo Yellow will take on Congolese giants TP Mazembe at the Loftus Versveld. The game will be a formality as Sundowns have already qualified for the quarter-finals.
