Kaizer Chiefs and Richards Bay ponder a triple deal

Kaizer Chiefs and Richards Bay could be doing quite a bit of business with one another in January.

ICYMI: Kaizer Chiefs interested in signing club legend’s brother

Kaizer Chiefs want Barns

Chiefs have contacted Richards Bay with designs on bringing 26-year-old Sanele Barns to Naturena.

“You see the difference now is that Chiefs have actually made contact with Richards Bay. At first, it was just interest from them,” the Siya source said on SoccerLaduma.

“So, now that they have made it official, maybe something will happen. Let’s wait for the next transfer window in January and see what happens then. But yeah, the two teams are in talks concerning Sanele (Barns)” he added.

“Even at first when Chiefs were interested in him, Richards Bay inquired about Sabelo Radebe and then Chiefs striker Caleb Bimenyimana. So, now I am not sure which players they are interested in to exchange for Sanele,” he continued.

Magoola being monitored

With Sanele Barns a potential target for Amakhosi, and Sabelo Radebe potentially leaning towards a loan move to the Natal Rich Boyz, these two clubs are forming quite a relationship. The latest name on Chiefs’ goalkeeping priority list is Salim Magoola. The 28-year-old Ugandan star was one of his side’s standout performers last term, especially in the first half of the campaign. Richards Bay struggled at the turn of the year, however, and continues to battle near the basement this season. According to Unplayable on X, Chiefs are poised to make a move in January. He kept 12 clean sheets in 27 league appearances in 2022-23.
