Legend on why Sundowns is annoying to Ahly

Mamelodi Sundowns should be annoying to African opponents such as Al Ahly and that is the sentiment shared by the Zamalek legend Mido.

While Mido says the South African side, Sundowns have improved over the past few seasons and are annoying, Mido argues that they might struggle against Ahly.

The retired Egypt and Tottenham Hotspur striker, Mido continues to lavish Sundowns with praise, saying they are always a threat in the African continent.

Ahead of this AFL semi-final clash, Sundowns defeated Angola’s Petro Luanda in the quarter-finals while Ahly beat Simba SC of Tanzania.

“Sundowns is one of the teams with an identity on the continent of Africa and they have a very distinctive playing school,” Mido tells Al Mehwar per KickOff.

AHLY TO OVERCOME SUNDOWNS, MIDO SPEAKS

In Addition, the outspoken Ahly legend also adds that despite the praise of Rulani Mokwena’s Sundowns, the Egyptians can still cause an upset.

The first leg of the highly awaited semi-final will be played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium and the return leg is slated for Cairo next week.

As things stand, The South African understand that Ahly have already arrived in South Africa to set up their camp.
