Good news for EIGHT Chiefs players 

The Kaizer Chiefs squad of players have a new coach in Cavin Johnson. This means that he will display his unique views and principles.

KAIZER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE CAVIN JOHNSON

As the Soweto giants announced on Monday, Johson has replaced Molefi Ntseki after some barren results in the DStv Premiership and a first round exit in the Carling Knockout.

“Cavin Johnson will take over as the First Team coach on an interim basis,” the club said on Monday.

“Current assistant coach, Dillon Sheppard will retain his position under Johnson,” the statement concluded.

GOOD NEWS FOR CHIEFS YOUNGSTERS

If there’s any one word to describe Johson, the term is ‘youngsters.’ The Johannesburg-born coach is a youth enthusiat at heart.

Starting his career at the famous Transnet School of Excellence, Johnson’s next job was at the second-best academy in the country: Ajax Cape Town’s Ikamva.

Additionally, Johnson arrived at Amakhosi in July as the Head of Youth and Development.

With a profile as his, seven youngsters at Chiefs are expected to be given opportunities to flourish:

  1. Aden McCarthy, 19, central defender
  2. Samkelo Zwane, 21, central midfielder.
  3. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, 23, attacking midfielder
  4. Sabelo Radebe, 23, central midfielder
  5. Mduduzi Shabalala, 19, forward
  6. Wandile Duba, 19, forward
  7. Donnay Jansen, 20, forward
  8. Mfundo Vilakazi, 17, forward.

THE FIRST FIVE DSTV PREMIERSHIP FIXTURES

Johnson first his Chiefs test will be a trip to Golden Arrows in KwaMhlanga this Saturday at 15:30, before two home games followed by another two on the road.

  1. Golden Arrows, away: 28 October
  2. Cape Town Spurs, home: 8 November
  3. Orlando Pirats, home: 11 November
  4. Moroka Swallows, away: 26 November
  5. Polokwane City, away: 9 December.
