Why Pirates won’t block players from going overseas

The Soweto giants are open to selling their players if a good offer comes their way.

Orlando Pirates won’t block their players from heading overseas if the right opportunity arises, according to Mgosi Squad sources.

OPINION: Isn’t Carling Knockout’s Man-of-the-Match just a popularity contest?

The Soweto giants are open to selling their players if a good offer comes their way.

Currently, Relebohile Mofokeng is on trial with Wolverhampton Wanderers in England, and if things work out for the promising 19-year-old, Pirates won’t hesitate to let him go.

The idea behind their development program is to nurture talent and give it a chance to shine on a bigger stage when the opportunity arises.

In Mofokeng’s case, he’ll be allowed to make the move if Wolves make a reasonable offer.

“There are other young prospects in the DDC team waiting for their shot, so Rele’s departure would create space for another emerging player to impress the coaching staff,” said our source.

Additionally, there’s overseas interest in Pirates’ on-loan striker Boitumelo Radiopane and Monnapule Saleng, but we don’t have specific team names at the moment.
