Sundowns coach Mokwena launches serious attack on critics

After successfully registering his fifth DStv Premiership on the trot, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena seriously launches an attack at his critics, saying everything he says is scrutinised.

Mokwena was livid after Sundowns’ match against Richards Bay, he hit back at critics who usually misinterpret what he says, explaining they will never destroy him.

The Masandawana manager, Mokwena has come underfire and faced attack for his managerial style and explained that his troops are striving in a different territory.

As the youngest coach in the Mzansi top flight at the age of 36, Mokwena has always been doubted but he is slowly silencing his critics.

Since taking over at Chloorkop last season, Mokwena has yet to lose in the league as he registered an impressive 19 victories while clinching 25 draws so far.

“I would rather not answer that because anything I say, I always tell you guys I’ve got a different set of rules,” Mokwena said per TimesLIVE.

“Everything I say is interrogated, everything I say is sometimes misconstrued, and sometimes deliberately so because people want to paint a narrative about me that does not exist. But I accept, because only God can judge me. I try to do my best every single day.

“Like Jesus Christ had — and please do not say he is comparing himself to Jesus Christ. You will say that, I know. I am saying it clearly: I am not [comparing himself to Jesus Christ], but I take reference from the book.”

SUNDOWNS COACH IS HURT BY CRITICS, SAYING HE IS HUMAN TOO

The CAF Champions League losing semi-finalist continued with his reaction, saying he has feelings and that some people forget he is human too.

Meanwhile, Mokwena has also broken Sundowns’ record after begging five straight wins, a record former coach Pitso Mosimane failed to hold.

“And I say, if the greatest of all that walked this planet, and if he was scrutinised, misinterpreted and killed, for truth and honesty, and representing that, then who am I? I’d rather not answer that because God knows my heart,” he added.

“Sometimes it’s very painful because I am human too. But I will soldier on, I am very strong.”

Meanwhile, the reigning league title holders will take a deserved short break this weekend and return to face Polokwane City on Wednesday next week.
