Mamelodi Sundowns came into the match without some key players but managed to dominate the KZN club away from home. Rulani Mokwena started with an unusual back three of Mothobi Mvala, Aubrey Modiba, and Grant Kekana with Rivaldo Coetzee playing just in front of the trio.

Sundowns still dominating despite injuries

The 27-year-old Bafana Bafana defender had to undergo surgery on his knee following a ‘freak incident ‘ during pre-season training. No update has been given by the club since his surgery but it still expected to be out for a few months given the nature of his injury.
