Greenwood attracting interest from Serie A

Man United confirmed on Monday this week that Mason Greenwood’s future lies away from Old Trafford. This followed an extensive investigation spanning over six months. Charges of attempted rape, assault, occasional bodily harm and controlling and coercive behaviour against the player were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February.

United will be open to offers. According to 90min, Italian Serie A trio Inter Milan, Atalanta and Roma have all made approaches for the striker. There is also interest from France and Saudi Arabia.

Monaco and El Ettifaq make approaches for Man United exile

Ligue 1 side Monaco and Saudi Pro League team Al Ettifaq, now managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, are also tentatively interested in Greenwood.

“90min understands that United would prefer to sell Mason Greenwood because his homegrown player status would provide a huge boost when it comes to Financial Fair Play calculations.” according to the outlet’s correspondent Graeme Baily.

“But the teams that have shown an interest in Greenwood are more geared towards offering a loan deal as it stands, especially those based in Europe.”
