A very disturbing record ahead of MTN8 clash

Kaizer Chiefs are away to Cape Town City in the MTN8 quarter-final in a match which will be played at Athlone Stadium on Sunday.

Amakhosi head into this encounter under immense pressure to deliver given their eight-year trophy drought.

Ironically, the last Cup trophy Chiefs lifted was the MTN8 in 2014 when they beat Orlando Pirates in the final.

Since, this trophy and many others eluded them, and their fans have run out of patience and want Chiefs to at least try and win this one.

CAPE TOWN CITY VS KAIZER CHIEFS: THE ODDS AGAINST AMAKHOSI

Chiefs head into this encounter as ‘underdogs’ given their poor record against Cape Town City in recent years.

Amakhosi have NOT beaten City in the two teams’ last five matches across all competitions which is a concern.

In those five games, City won FOUR while the other match ended in a draw – meaning Chiefs need to approach this match differently.

Overall, Chiefs and City have met 17 times since 2016, with the former winning eight and suffering seven defeats while the other two matches ended in a draw.
