Mmodi spurns Pirates for Chiefs

Amakhosi have been chasing the 29-year-old wide man since last year, with Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu also credited with an interest. His Golden Arrows contract expires at the end of this month, by which time he’ll be a free agent. It’s believed that Chiefs will unveil Mmodi on July 1st, alongside a few of other new acquisitions.

According to a source close to AmaZulu, Usuthu offered Mmodi a salary in the region of R200 000, trumping that of Chiefs. However, the Glamour Boys did offer a better signing-on fee, according to the same source.

The Glamour Boys have also clinched the signings of Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City, Given Msimango from TS Galaxy and Thatayoane Ditlhokwe from SuperSport United.
