Were Chiefs really interested in Pitso?

Pitso Mosimane has finally responded to rumours that linked him to Kaizer Chiefs.

The 58-year-old South African coach recently signed with United Arab Emirates (UAE) giants AL Wahda after leaving Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli Saudi FC last month.

Pitso joined the Al Ahli FC last year and guided the Saudi Arabian heavyweights back into the Saudi Pro League last month but shocked many when it was announced he was leaving the club.

Asked if he would have accepted Chiefs’ offer, Mosimane told IDiski Times that the Soweto giants never came to him.

“It’s not about Kaizer Chiefs,” he said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

“We will coach anywhere where there is a project that we think is good and is right. But we’re not in a position to be sending applications form. No, we don’t do application forms,” Pitso added.

“If somebody really, really wants you, he’ll come to you, he’ll talk to you,” the former Mamelodi Sundowns said.

Perhaps Chiefs have another coach in mind who is more qualified than Jingles.

Pitso’s next project is in UAE and as for Kaizer Chiefs, it remains to be seen if they’ll bring in a new coach for next season or stick with Arthur Zwane.

Chiefs are yet to comment on whether Zwane will remain or get the chop.
