Pirates to keep winger at Chippa

Orlando Pirates are farming several top players for the future, one of them is Azola Matrose in the Eastern Cape at Chippa United.

ORLANDO PIRATES TO KEEP AZOLA MATROSE AT CHIPPA UNITED

Chippa United’s 19-year-old Matrose was hot for just a couple of games in 2021/22 before the Buccaneers surprised us all by signing the Gqeberha-born winger. Additionally, the Sea Robbers decided to keep Matrose on loan with the Chilli Boys last season.

After as little as 16 appearances that included two goals last term, Pirates have decided to let Matrose play another season on loan at Chippa.

SCHOOL PRIORITIES

According to the latest report from iDiski Times’ leading reporter Sinethemba Makonco, Matrose was focused on his grade 11 studies in Gqeberha last season.

The report added to say that the left-winger, who also suffered a bone injury last term, will spend pre-season with Jose Riveiro’s team before returning to the Eastern Cape to finish matric in 2024.
