WATCH: Lukaku accidentally stops Inter from scoring equaliser

Romelu Lukaku was slammed by fans for missing two big chances for Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday night.

Manchester City beat Inter 1-0 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul to win their first Champions League trophy, along with a historic treble. Rodri strike in the 68th minute was enough to secure a win for the Citizens however Inter came close to forcing the match into extra-time.

After the match, Lukaku was heavily criticised online after a poor performance with some fans calling him ‘finished’.

The striker, who is on loan from Chelsea, replaced Edin Dzeko and at times looked like a threat for City’s defence.

As Inter were looking for the equaliser, Federico Dimarco hit the bar but Romelu Lukaku inadvertently blocked a rebounded header to deny the Italian club a well deserved goal.

Lukaku’s sluggish performance against City slammed

With a few minutes remaining Robin Gosens headed the ball across the box for Inter but once again Lukaku failed to beat City goalkeeper Ederson, who made a close range save to deny the Belgium star.

Lukaku had a chance one final time but dragged his shot wide late on when he would have been better off passing in front of goal.

Tweeps were quick to criticise his performance.
